Roots and Suffixes

In this exercise words are formed from roots and suffixes. The root and the suffix is each copied to the bottom of the page so that many different words can be made using the same roots and suffixes. How many words can you form with these roots and suffixes?

Directions:

  1. Please open this page using Netscape. If you are using Internet Explorer, please close it and open Netscape.
  2. Save this page on your local computer in c: drive or in a: on your floppy disk. To do this, click File, click Save as. Then in the Save as Type box, click the little arrow and choose Text File. Finally click Save.
  3. Open the MS Word by clicking its icon. Open the file you just saved. Now you are ready to start the exercise.
  4. Copy and paste a root from column 1 to the table marked "New Words. then copy and paste a suffix from column 2 to finish the word. Remove letters if necessary. Two examples are given.
