Finding Books Outside the
SCC Libraries
Borrowing Books within the Seattle
Community College Libraries
All regularly circulating library materials are available
for check out among the three libraries and media centers
of the Seattle Community Colleges (SCC). Authorized users
may request books directly from other campus libraries through
the Seattle
Community Colleges Library Catalog, by clicking on the
"Request Item" button and filling out a simple online
form. Requests for periodicals should be submitted through
the librarians at the Reference Desk.
There is no charge for in-district loan service. Materials
are held at the Circulation Desk (Check-out & Reserves)
for one week. Library users are notified by phone when their
materials arrive. This service is not available if the library
user has outstanding fines or overdue books.
Turn around time is usually 24 hours, but may take longer.
Interlibrary Loan from Other Libraries
Interlibrary loan service (ILL) is available to borrow books
and materials from other libraries in the OCLC/WLN Pacific
Northwest Service Center.
Requests for out-of-district ILL should be submitted at the
Reference Desk. If the lending library charges for the loan,
that fee will be passed on to the person requesting the item.
Many libraries do not charge for this service, and the reference
librarian making the request will attempt to find a library
that does not charge a fee. The person making the request
will be advised if a fee is involved.
Please allow 1 - 3 weeks for delivery.
