The most efficient way to find articles in magazines, newspapers, and journals is to search in the library's
periodical databases. To search for articles in online reference books, such as encyclopedias, use the library's
reference databases. You can also browse a list of periodicals owned by the library and connect to their web site.

Provides access to full-text articles from online scholarly journals covering all disciplines.
Open Lock ERIC Database
Provides indexing and abstracting for documents and journal articles in the field of education, from 1966 to the present. ERIC is a free database, available to anyone over the Internet. Another version of the database is available here.
Open Lock Free Medical Journals
Provides full-text articles to medical journals, including many international publictions. Content is delayed between one to 24 months.
Open Lock HighWire Press
Indexes scholarly scientific journal articles from over 1,000 scholarly publishers, much in full text.
Open Lock PubMed Database (MEDLINE)
A service of the National Library of Medicine, PubMed provides access to over 11 million MEDLINE citations back to the mid-1960's and additional life science journals.[more info]

The McGraw-Hill’s Encyclopedia of Science & Technology, 10th Edition online, fully searchable encyclopedia that provides over 7,000 articles, 115,000 dictionary terms, research updates, biographies, news and links to web sites for further research.
Closed Lock ARTstor
ARTstor is a digital library of over 700,000 images designed to enhance teaching, learning and scholarship in the Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Images can be viewed in detail through features such as zooming and panning, saving groups of images online for personal or shared uses, and creating and delivering presentations both online and offline.

Britannica.com is the online version of the Encyclopaedia Britannica, plus selected Internet sites and articles from magazines and journals.
Closed Lock CQ Electronic Library
CQ Researcher, published by CQ (Congressional Quarterly) Press, reports on a current social issue each week. Reports are approximately 12,000 words long and provide: background information, important points to consider, charts and graphs, and a source list for further reading. Frequently covered topics include public policy, public opinion, economics, education, environment, government, law, and medicine.

The Global Road Warrior is a social/cultural, travel, and international business resource database covering 175 countries and territories. Includes over 6,000 color photos, and 1,575 country maps, all presented in a consistent 97-category framework for each country.
Closed Lock Health and Wellness Resource Center
The Health and Wellness Resource Center contains reference articles on health and nutrition from magazines and journals, including alternative-health publications.
Closed Lock History Resource Center: U.S.
The History Resource Center: U.S. provides integrated access to over 1,000 historical (primary) documents, more then 30,000 reference articles, and over 65 full-text journals covering themes, events, individuals and periods in U.S. history from pre-Colonial times to the present. The material also includes access to the citations for over 180 additional history journals from the Institute for Scientific Information's Arts and Humanities Citation Index.

The Literature Resource Center contains full-text journal articles, literary criticism, reviews, biographical information, interviews, and more. Includes writers in all disciplines from all time periods and from all around the world.
Open Lock Northwest High Tech
Northwest High Tech provides a searchable database containing profiles of more than 2,000 computer companies in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, British Columbia and Alberta. This resource was last updated in 2002.
Closed Lock Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center
Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center is a database covering social issues, such as gun control, genetic engineering, censorship, endangered species, and terrorism. It provides viewpoint articles, contextual topic overviews, government and organizational statistics, biographies of social activists, court cases, profiles of government agencies and special interest groups, newspaper and magazines articles, as well as links to web sites.

This database contains practice guides for the GED, TOEFL, civil and military exams, and more, as well as college and scholarship information.

A current events database that allows researchers to explore social, political and economic issues, scientific discoveries and other popular topics.
Open Lock WOIS Career Information
The WOIS database contains job descriptions for more than 340 occupations, as well as information on training programs and schools in Washington state. Available only on campus.
