ProQuest Database

A simple query with AND, in the Basic Search mode.

A more complex nested query, combining keywords linked with OR to keywords linked with AND.

A Boolean search in the Advance Search mode. This is the same as the following in the Basic Mode:

cell phones AND (accidents or driving)

The drop-down boxes let you select AND, OR AND NOT, without having to type them in.

 

Academic Search Premier

Google

A simple search in Google. Because of the implied AND operator, you don't have to type AND between your search terms. Enclose phrases in quotation marks.

 

Library Catalog

A basic keyword relevance search using the AND operator.

A Boolean search in the Advanced Search screen.

the Boolean OR operator
