Course Reserves

What exactly are Reserves?

Reserves are a special collection kept at the Circulation Desk in each of the libraries. Reserve materials are either items placed in the library by instructors for students to use for specific courses, such as supplemental texts, or sample exams; or they are items which the librarians have identified as being in high demand, or very valuable, or difficult to replace if lost.

Loan Periods and Fines for Reserve Items

The course instructor determines the period of time for Reserve checkout (generally 1-2 hours, Library Use Only). Because Reserve items are in high demand for a whole class, it is important that they be returned on time. Fines for overdue Reserve items are:

Checking Out Materials on Reserve

Reserve books are arranged by Course; photocopies are arranged by Instructor's Last Name. Be sure to provide the correct information when making your request.
